Why was I charged a late fee?

In keeping with Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC) regulations, a late fee of 5% of your past-due balance(s) can be charged to you when you make a late bill payment. New Leaf customers have 15 days after the initial issue date listed on their invoice to pay their bill on time. If the full balance for your account is not paid by your current bill's due date, any subsequent payment you make toward that bill will be deemed late. The best way to prevent this fee is to pay your monthly bill in a timely manner, or to enroll in Auto Pay.
